Reduction of fees for registration of Community Trademark.

The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market announced expected reduction of about 40 % of the fees for registration of Community Trademark. The change consist of removing the fee due at registration phase and single payment only for application in amount of 1050 EUR (for a CTM applied for by fax or paper) or 900 EUR (for an electronically filed CTM). The new fee for an application filed via the Madrid Protocol will be 870 EUR.
The proposed changes are already approved by the Fees Committee at the European Commission in Brussels and is expected soon only the formal adoption and publication of the final text of the Fees Regulation.
